Sudoku is a devilishly clever grid game. It can be described simply: a 3x3 grid, each square itself divided into a 3x3 grid, for a total slate of 9x9 cells.

The object of the game is to fill each column, row, and inner 3x3 grid with the numbers 1-9, without repeating the same number in any column, row, or inner square. That’s it.

From these simple rules emerges an engaging and sometimes infuriating game of vast combinations with a single solution. The purpose of this series is to present strategies for solving a Sudoku puzzle, from beginner, intermediate, to advanced.
